Abigail and Her Multiple Facades

In Arthur Millers The Crucible he examines the horrendous trials of Salem witches. Miller specifically examines the trial of some little girls accused of witch craft and satanic acts. This trial is a special case though merle because it is mostly based on a lie conjured up by a conniving misleading tramp. The name of this girl is Abigail Williams and her antics to try to make everyone look guilty but herself even if it means people might die. Throughout the novel you will see the many traits Abigail portrays. Within this essay some of Abigail?s worst traits will be examined.

Overall Abigail is a necessary character in the novel because she adds suspense and liveliness to he story because of all of her facades. They allow the reader to take sides in the story and learn to hate her and consider her an enemy. But as the reader is hating her they are actually loving her for all of the character she adds to the pot line.

"I have a sense of for heat, John, and yours has drawn me to my window, and I have seen you looking up, burning in your loneliness. Do you tell me you?ve never looked up at my window"(1046).
