Acquiring the art of a sport is never an easy task. Skills that are needed to develop a person’s ability and strength are specific to that certain sport, and as some would say, are more easily said then done. Diving among many other sports falls into this particular category. Although it may not be one of the most popular sports, it is very difficult to acquire the certain skills, even for the most basic dive.When learning diving keep in mind the skills a gymnast would use on the vault aspect of gymnastics. The gymnast first gets a running start, does a hurdle right before they hit the springboard, to propel themselves onto the horse or vault and then performs a certain skill. Diving uses much of this same concept, only the approach is much slower, and controlled. Also there is no horse. However, divers use the same head start, and hurdle to propel themselves into the air.
