A detailed Summary of September 11


On September 11, 2001, the United States was attacked. No, another country didn't bomb our oil reserves, or unleash a fierce military raid on a certain city or state. Instead the incident was more like a hate crime. The objective was pure evil, to cause havoc and complete kayous. There was no military or economic gain, but instead a personal desire by a group to use violence. In the Webster's dictionary Terrorism is defined as the unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons. With this definition mind I don't believe anyone could argue that what happened on September 11, was a form of terrorism. In the end of this presentation I'd like for you to have a better I would like to explain what terrorism is

Even though these events are significant, nothing could have prepared American citizens for the other day that will live in infamy. Between the times of 7:59 am and 8:20 am, three planes, all destined for Los Angeles International took to the skies. Two planes, American Airliner #11 and United Airliner #175, both departed from Boston's Logan Int. The other plane, another American Airliner #77 started its flight from Washington's Dulles Int. At 8:45 am Flight #11 crashed into Tower 1 (north tower). For people on the ground and watching on TV the incident could have been perceived as accidental. That theory was interrupted at 9:05 am when Flight #175 crashed into Tower 2 (south tower). In both instance huge balls of flame were present. . Fearing more hijacked planes were in the skies a nationwide halt was put on air traffic for the first time in history. Unfortunately the terror was not over. At 9:43 am. Flight #77 crashed into the Pentagon tearing a hole into the side of it. At 9:45 am the White House was evacuated
