A detailed Summary of "A Raisin In The Sun", "Death
"A Raisin In The Sun", "Death Of a Salesman", and my very own Family
In the plays "A Raisin in The Sun" by Lorraine Hansberry and "Death of A Salesman" by Arthur Miller, many of the characters have dreams. These plays relate to my life because we all have dreams that we would like to fulfill, however, there are many obstacles along the way before we can fulfill them. As in our society today, some people end up poor, some end up rich, but either way it all depends on if they end up happy. In this thesis I will be expressing how I can relate these plays to my life and show how they relate to each other.
Beneatha from "A Raisin In The Sun" is very ambitious and asks a lot of questions. She is the type of person that needs to plan things out before she does them. Ruth says that she wants to have a baby and right away Beneatha says, "Where is he going to live? On the roof?"(Pg 58). My cousin decided that she wanted to have a baby and right away my family began to ask questions. Who is the baby going to live with? How are you going to support it? You don't even own your own house! I think that people plan life too much. It is important to plan and prepare for your future, but it's also important to not be afraid of new things

In conclusion, both families are much like each other and can be related in many ways. They both try to do things in there own way but somehow I notice that the father is always the main figure that everything is based around. If the father brings in enough money and can support the family well, then the mother doesn't have much worry and can help out with smaller issues around the home, however, if the father isn't bringing in enough money then the mother will find a way to make up for the short comings. Both of my parents work, because of the society today it is all right for the mother to have a fulltime job. In the older society, the father went to work, and the mother stayed home with the children. Every family has issues; no matter if you're Black, white, Spanish, it doesn't matter. In this thesis I show how these plays can relate to each other on a multicultural scale as well as an everyday at home family. As for the arguments, the money trouble, and all the hard times that may have occurred, in the end they all ended up happy. In "A Raisin In The Sun" they got their new house, the family is now getting along with each other, and everyone one is somewhat satisfied. In "Death Of a Salesman" everyone is happy, Willy is dead and doesn't have to worry anymore and can live on in the afterlife, his family is happy because they don't have to worry for him. As for my family, we are just great! Everyone is healthy (thank god) and also happy.
Besides Children, these plays can relate in other ways. When my parents were young I heard many stories about how my Grandmother would clean peoples homes for money and when they came to America cleaning was the best way of making money for her. Young Walter from "A Rais
