Old Man and the Sea thesis

It's the very first day in summer and you are innocently jumping on one of your friend's trampolines. Then picture your feet falling out from underneath yourself. As you fly through the air and look to the gods, knowing your fate. As you come closer to the ground you land with nothing to protect your face but you r own arms. At the exact instant you hit the ground you hear the enevetable crack, and the sound almost cuts you rears in half. You know the result but you must look at yourself, and upon inspection you discover that, as you figured, your arm is broken. This exact situation happened to me this summer, I hadn't hurt anyone, and I was stuck with virtually nothing to do all summer. "The best laid plans of mice and men oftem go astray" When Shakesphere said this he was feeling a rush of emotions and he must have realized that life isn't fair, and when you realize that you also realalize that this is because luck plays too great of a part in the human existence. If there was no luck there would be no real life, in that humans could never hope for something better, people would be born into all their roles. Without luck would be boring and utimatly lack promise.

Luck is a very peculur thing and we all see examples of it in our personal lives and in books. The old man went through much luck in his own life. " Remember when we went through eighty-seven days without a fish and we then caught three big fish." (The boy, pg 11 Hemmingway) tells of a tale of luck, catching th ethree fish, and also a tale of misfortune, going that long without a fish. "He is almost blind".."But you still see well"(boy to old, pg 13) man shows the luck on the old mans part to be naturally gifted with good eyesight. " They dolphin would make meat, and nurishment" (pg 70) tells of how the old man was lucky enough to catch an additio
