North America: the continent of freedom and equality. Oh how nice it would be if this statement was correct and enforced to its maximum state of being. Utopianism is such a wonderful frame of mind, and this is the only place that such statements as," North America: the continent of freedom and equality" can exist in its true form and state.

All around us we see that this statement is untrue, in religion, in race, and in the constant battle between male and female equality. Through media and public education such as high school (ex. Social Studies and History), the idea is pumped into our heads as though it will some day work. Well, I am making the bold statement today, saying that society in the state of equilibrium between religion, race and sex will never b


Even in the confines of our own homes equality does not exist. Imagine a little girl growing up, her mother and father are supposed to be equal figure heads in the young girl's life, this however is not the case. Justine Barry learned at a very young age the particular parent in which to go to. The one that would be easiest to sway to get any particular thing she wanted.

So as you can see equality only exists in a utopian society, which does not exist. In every aspect of human life the attempt to accomplish a society of equilibrium, is only matched with inequality. This, as I said before, is not a reason for not trying to live regarding everyone as equal. However we should try our hardest to accomplish the impossible, and create that equal, utopian society.
