The Allies had won the war in Europe, against Hitler but the war continued in the Pacific against Japan. After many American victories in the Pacific, the Japanese would not surrender, this lead America to develop a new weapon of destruction. Albert Einstein suggested the idea of an atomic bomb to President Roosevelt. A scientist named Oppenheimer led the Manhattan project, or the development of the atomic bomb. America made many warnings of the destruction of the atomic bomb and Japanese would not accept these warnings so President Harry Truman decided to unleash Little Boy.
