FDR

January 30, 1882, in Hyde Park New York, a man was born. A man that would become a great champion, leading his country through many dilemmas, his name was Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Who is Franklin Delano Roosevelt, a president, as most people would respond when I say his name. Yes, a president, but also a leader, a genius, a hero, and an idol, all of which are associated with greatness.

For one to be great they must correspond with all of the criteria listed below. Greatness is more than a title, it is something inside everyone that can only be reached by following these criteria.

His ability to provide comfort for himself and others replenished their energy keeping Roosevelt's administration strong throughout his presidency. Every night Roosevelt followed an extraordinary ritual, he would host a one hour cocktail party for his workers and associates. His friends were finally able to take a break from the stress of their important work to have some laughs and discuss simpler things such as movies. Roosevelt also comforted himself to take his mind off work, he relaxed by playing poker games, solitaire, and even taking long fishing trips. Roosevelt would also visit his boyhood home in Hyde Park, New York to escape the pressures of his work, in fact over two hundred times throughout his presidency. His methods of relaxing, comforting and providing for those around him gave Roosevelt a fresh and young mi
