Ernest Hemingway once said," All modern literature comes from one book by Mark Twain called Huckleberry Finn." This classic in American literature has been ridiculed for its Non-Traditional views. In spite of this he stood proudly by his book. Some of most memorable things about this book are the modernistic view of slavery, the character Huck Finn, and his depiction of Nature vs. civilization.

Mark Twain's book challenged people's primitive view on slavery. He introduces an average slave, Jim, running away for fear of being sold. As the story progresses Jim meats Huck, who is also on the run, on Jackson Island. As they travel through the Mississippi Jim and Huck encounter many obstacles, which they face together. As they figure out ways to get past these obstacles, Huck begins to realize that Jim is just like any other person. He demonstrates love, c
