Men vs. Women
Men and women have always had their differences, but do those make their lives easier compared to the other? Women have the evident disadvantages and heinous events and activities, however, men have their disadvantages as well in a less obvious manner. Although I am a female and somewhat believe women do have it harder because of the physical distinctions, I feel men have their shortcomings as well, more in the sense of things they cannot get away with. However, difficulties of men and women tend to even out as time goes by and society progresses as a community. Thus, both sexes have their advantages over each other and can say they can do certain things just because "they are a girl" or because "they are a guy," which is supposed to be reasonable enough to continue their actions. This balance is something that is probably better for the world instead of extreme and literal equality. Both sexes have certain aspects to overcome the opposite sex, yet neither is better than the other. A woman comes into the world and is expected to act certain ways, to follow certain rules, and to be as feminine as she can just be
The whole idea of having the reasoning that things are able to be done just because one is a certain sex is very intriguing to inspect. Women are allowed to look very girly, not participate in laboring activities, allowed to be rude and obnoxious during their period, and other things just because they are women. Men are allowed to eye many other females and have perverted ideas about them, make sexual comments, be rude and tough just because they are men. So who are we to blame for these stereotypes of what women and men should be? It is certain that not the whole male population loves football or does not enjoy sewing, and it is also certain that not the whole female population likes wearing high heels or does not enjoy tools. In McKee's "We Are Too a Men's Magazine", society is suppose to praise men because of their toughness or how McKee states "their big, hairy balls." In class, there was a discussion on how society perceives men who are construction workers more "manly" than men who are rocket scientists and how females who do not wear nicely fitted outfits that flatter the body are stereotyped as lesbians or tomboys. I conflict in my essay because even though I am somewhat bias do to my own sex, I believe one sex is not harder than the other. I know I would never dare to ask a guy out, have to deal with bullies, or having to wear a tight tie and a thick suit in the summertime. Advantages and disadvantages between the difference sexes almost equal out, not necessarily making the sexes equal, but making them so different that they cannot even be compared to each other in the sense of who has it harder. The only people who can dare to relate the two sexes would have to be someone who has experienced being a male and a female in their lives (not including transsexuals) and I have yet to find someone who has accomplished that. Physically, women have it harder than men. Nature tends to give all the responsibilities to the women, making them give birth, have to deal with a monthly friend, who is not a friend at all because it is quite unpleasant and painful, and gives physical properties to a woman that make it harder to compete with the male's physique. Although I have never given birth to a child before, I would assume that it is terribly painful. For example, e
