Dreams
On a Snowy night in the San Juan Mountains just south of Ouray Colorado, I find myself in the passenger seat of a truck roaming along the trail trying to find a way down the mountain back to the city below. As we start to fear for our lives lightning lit up the sky and you could see the snow start to fall heavier. We now realize we could be trapped up in the mountains all night long. As we take a turn at a fork we realize we made a mistake and can not find a nearby place to try and turn around.. The snow starts to fall even more heavily but the driver insists we go on and that everything will be all right. I never took my eyes off of the trail in front of us and am completely ignoring the fact that we are now on the most dangerous trail in the San Juan Mountains. As we come to a switchback up ahead in the trail we can tell that most of it is covered in snow and it would be extremely dangerous to try to go around the switchback and continue along the trail. After a short talk about how to maneuver around the switch back the driver seems to be confident and decides to go over it, after a four point turn he makes the turn and guns the engine so we will not get stuck in the snow. When the driver guns the engine the ba
Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychiatry, believes that your dreams are just interpretations of your real life experiences or your thoughts that could possibly be fears, wishes, or any type of emotion or feelings. According to Sigmund Freud in his writings from The Interpretation of Dreams The dream that just occurred can be interpreted into one of my greatest fears, which is falling off of a trail in the mountains in Colorado. The theory he has is correct in my case because it is one of my biggest fears yet it is also one that cannot happen just any day. All of the details in this dream are accurate except for the fact that I had my seatbelt on and couldn't get it off. I am analyzing this dream and interpreting it to what I think is happening in the situation as it happens. In my dream I am in a truck traveling along the trail in the dark while it is snowing not knowing where to go. This can be interpreted many ways in accordance to my experience and knowledge on the mountains in the San Juan Valley. I do not like being in the mountains at night because of all the dangers that lurk around at nighttime including the fact that it is pitch black and the visibility is not very good. Also at night in Colorado there is more wildlife out such as elk, sheep, sheep dogs, and some mountain lions, which could be a dangerous factor because they could block the trail or see the vehicle as a threat and ram the truck. Why it was snowing in the dream is a mystery to me because I have never been on the off-road trails in the winter or when it was snowing very hard at all.. I believe it was snowing in my dream to exaggerate the danger in falling off of the mountain and to make the dream that more scarier. Being lost in the mountains is something that always seems to be happening to us in our adventures in Colorado, because everything looks similar and the trails just go on forever with different types of turns at every corner. Being lost and not knowing where the trail was headed were all frightening factors that led to the end result of the truck falling off of the mountain with me inside falling to my short excruciating d
