Racism in Hawaii
Personally I think Hawaii is a paradise but it is not a racial utopia, which it is sometimes portrayed as. It has its own brand of racism that isn’t far from the same racism experienced in the south that pitted whites versus blacks. I am not saying that racism here has to do strictly with color of skin as it does there. Racism here has to do with locals who feel that people from the mainland should stay on the mainland. For the most part the Hawaiian people are friendly but there are the few who still are sore with the white people for coming and stealing their land from underneath them. I completely understand there reasoning but they need to put themselves in the shoes of people who they are discriminating against. The only racial violence I know of is between Samoans and blacks at school. I never understand why they continue to fight, maybe it is partially racial or they just have to prove
