Compare and Contrast The Treat

The writers of these poems themselves had very different experiences with war. Alfred Tennyson had heard of the charge made by the light brigade and had written his poem with no first hand experience of the event. However, Wilfred Owen had actually fought in the Second World War, and written from his own experience. In the two poems, imagery of the soldiers is used to describe the feelings of war in the poem. Their actions and appearances are described in different ways.
