Dynamic vs. Static Complex Cha
In the Arthur Miller’s play The Crucible there are two many kinds of characters dynamic and static complex characters. The dynamic character in the play is Reverend Hale. The main static complex character is Abigail Williams. Reverend Hale is a dynamic character because of the major changes he goes through during the play. He changes from hunting and trying to get rid of the witchcraft in Salem, to realizing that witchcraft is fake and trying to save the accused. His change occurs when John Proctor is accused of being a wizard and sending his spirit on Marry Warren. He changes at this time because he knows the John Proctor is a good man and is not a wizard. So at this time he realizes that the whole thing is ridiculous and quits the court. Before he quits the courts he says to judge Danforth “Excellency, this child has gone wild.” He says that directed to Marry Warrens accusing Jon Proctor as a witch.
