All members of legislature are influential. In fact, they are some of the most influential people in the nation. However, it is obvious that certain legislators have had a greater impact on society than others. I feel that Newt Gingrich has had a greater impact in congress that any other member. When Newt was still a child, his father was a soldier. This inspired him to serve his life for the well being of his country. He knew that in order to understand how to decide how things should run in the future, he should first understand the past. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Emory University and a Master’s and Doctorate from Tulane University in Modern European History. Before he was elected to Congress, he taught History and Environmental Studies at West Georgia College for eight years. He is known as an expert on world history, military issues, and international affairs.
