Adolf Hitler was the Fuhrer (leader) of the Nazi Germany, the instigator of World War 2 and the driving force behind the attempt to exterminate European Jewry, otherwise know as the Final Solution or the Holocaust. Hitler was born on 20 April 1889 at Braunau - am - Inn, Austria, Hungary. He was the third son of Alois and Klara Hitler. His father moved them to Linz, where Hitler attended school. He did well in the school in the beginning, but progressively worsened. When Hitler was 14 his father died. Five years later his mother also past away. The death of his mother persuaded him to move to Vienna, where he twice attempted to enter the Academy for Art, failing both times. Between 1909 and 1913 Hitler moved from one lowly job to another - copying and peddling picture postcards, drawing up advertisement and painting and decorating houses.
