Animal Farm Essay

A detailed Summary of Animal Farm Essay

In this novel the author, George Orwell satirizes human behavior. He does this by representing unions or groups of people with various sorts of animals. In this novel certain animals play different roles in the society of animals, I am going to describe the following animals: Boxer, Napoleon, Snowball, the dogs and Moses. Each of these animals are significant towards the theme, I will also depict their human counterpart and how they represent that certain group.

Boxer: Boxer who is a large farm horse is very hard working and honest horse. The rest of the farm animals respect him because of his amazing ability to do the workload of 2 horses. His solution to every problem is "I will work harder." He is not very intelligent but he makes up for it with his tough endurance and work efforts. In the novel he plays a big role, he was one of the main animals to lead the actual revolution when they drove the farm men out of the farm. They are used to scare the animals and force them to worship Napoleon. George Orwell used the dogs to represent a sort of army or police used to terrorize its own people.

Moses: Moses is farmer Jones raven who is often telling the animals about this imaginary place called Sugar candy Mountain. He was around before the revolution giving the animals hopes that if they work hard during this lifetime they will live in a paradise. After The revolution he disappeared for a short period when every thing was going good but once things were beginning to fall apart he returned and began telling his tales of this imaginary place. George Orwell used the raven to symbolize organized religion.

Napoleon: Napoleon is known to be a good worker at the beginning of the story and the animals look up to him and Snowball as leaders after the revolution. Napoleon takes over power by raising nine dogs secretly to form a small army and drives Snowball out of the farm. Napoleon recruits different animals such as squealer, the dogs and the sheep to put himself into ultimate power. He is not a very good talker so he s
