The US's problem is simple. Our fish numbers are dwindling due to an array of factors. First off, our rivers, streams and oceans have been fished since Eric the Red and the Vikings were here. Our water supplies have almost been stripped bare from what the supply of good, adult sized fish used to be. Over fishing has been compensated by strict government standards on how much poundage of fish can be taken each day, and year from the US waters. (Boston Globe, 2002)
Since the government has been putting strict standards on how much fish can be taken in each day, they should also be held accountable on helping out the fishing industry financially. For the longest time, people who lived off of the ocean too
