Many materials that are found naturally on the earth are very strong and have lasted the test of time. Some examples of the stronger materials are wood, rope, and stone. However, they don't come close to the strengths of man-made materials. There are also many other benefits to man-made materials than natural materials such as weight and styles. The main material that I will be focusing on began in the 1930's as fiberglass and now has developed into a lightweight composite known as carbon fiber. Producing this man-made composite is not very complicated compared to the processes of others. There are many uses for this somewhat new material and they come into parts of our everyday life. The expense of carbon fiber is also relatively cheap c
The prices for golf clubs made out of carbon fiber are a little more expensive than steel shafts. On average at Pro Golf Discount in Ft.Collins, carbon fiber shafts are five dollars more per club. The prices of other carbon fiber products are usually more expensive but it is a much better material than anything else. Since steel is a much denser material than carbon fiber it makes the weight of the same size product lighter.
Carbon fiber has many uses from bikes to cars and is much stronger than steel. The process of making it also is very efficient and produces a high quality material that is applicable in many situations. However, in large products such as car bodies the expense is too great to use carbon fiber.
