Descriptive Essay of a Pen

Long, slender and sleek, you give me the power of words. Your round, agile head rolling gently along the rough-textured paper spilling your glorious, black blood as you skate across the blank document. The lights of the heavens rain down upon you; your glowing radiance is blinding. Mine eyes can hardly follow. Your smell fills my heart with gladness. You are my one and only; it is up to you to get me through this paper. If you were to die, you would take me with you.

Your amorous wonder, your saturating glow; you fill a void in my hand. You embrace all that is beautiful and good within six inches of ink-filled glamour. Your shiny, silver cap is thrown to the side as if you could not stand to be contained a moment longer. Brilliant from end to tip, you are a beacon of intellect. Your shimmering, silver body coerces me to touch you. I cannot resist such a lovely offer as this.

I caress your bright armor, graze your mystic being; you inebriate me with your beauty. So cold in shade; so cold in the light; you have no heart to warm you. My fingers glide about your wondrous body, making me tingle throughout my hand and arm. Your chill gives me goose bumps as we dance upon this blank ledger

I remember the day we first met. You were lying still in your velvet-lined gift box, yearning to escape from that placid display case. My eyes were drawn to your beauty by the forces of your supernatural radiance. It took but a moment for me to convince myself that you were the one for me...it was love at first site. My heart was racing as I emptied the cash from my wallet to give the clerk. She gave me an odd look of bewilderment, confused my intense lust for an inanimate object. Like a squirrel crossing the street, I ran quickly and paused for but a moment to make a short glance down to reassure myself you were still in my clumsy hands. I stumbled my way to my car, fumbling frantically for my keys. I could not hold back any longer...I had to hold you right then and there! I tore open the box and released you from your felt prison. I pulled you gently to my bosom, rocking you like a baby. After satisfying my urge to hold you, I placed you in your soft bed and drove away to carry you across the threshold of my home.

We walked upon the thin ice of society's pond, being careful to avoid the tiny cracks engraved atop the surface of morality. It was to be a long journey across that dreary pond, yet I was willing to sacrifice all that was mine to be with you forever. I tried to explain to them that our love was a truly intimate love, a pure love and a splendid love. It was not like that of the temporary bliss in which the minds and hearts of lesser mortals tend to indulge; nor was it the physical lust that one has for other material possessions such as spoons, pencils or even paper. Rather, it was the certain blind love that one truly feels for another being. But, nonetheless, society would not allow us to be together for much longer.

Sadly, I now realize that you cannot be with me forever, for you are an inanimate object and society would push us away and label us as outcasts. Our forbidden love must come to an end, as all go
