Myth of Memories
My family photo album has played an important role of my family's ideology and family memories. When my family album was put together I was reminded of my family's history and possess sentimental ties within our family. Viewing photographs of my deceased loved ones enables my family and I, to manuscript our lives as they occurred and to remember all the memories we had made. There are several questions that have to be answered in studying an icon. For instance, what mythology is the icon reifying? Is the icon serving as an intentional or unintentional purpose? Does the icon have a personal or universal outlook? Has the icon been resignified? Lastly, is the icon serving as a pure or functional icon? I believe my family photo album represents The Myth of Memories and The Myth of Endless Childhood. Much like my family storytelling, it links us together as one intelligible family.
