Huck is determines to rescue Jim, and makes the journey to the Phelps farm. Upon arriving at the farm, he discovers that the Phelps' are Tom Sawyer's Aunt Sally and Uncle Silas. Also, they are expecting a visit from Tom any day. The Phelps' mistake him for Tom and welcome him. Before Tom arrives at his aunt and uncle's farm, Huck finds him and asks him for his help in freeing Jim. Tom agrees and then must pretend to be his own younger brother, Sid, in order to fool his aunt and uncle. Huck steals a canoe and goes to Jackson Island. This is where he first meets Jim, a slave of the Widow Douglas's. Jim fled from the widow after overhearing the widow speaking about selling him down the river. Yes, I would definitely recommend this book. Overall I gave it an 8 out of 10. This is only because of Twain's ability to ruin suspense in a novel. However, it had an exciting plot and was able to hold my interest. I enjoyed Twain's irony and wit in his writings. I also liked how he could touch on many subject matters, from racism to hypocrisy in society. The novel The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is a novel of adventure as well as a fictional story.
