Victorian Era

Pride and prejudice is a novel describing the people and times of the Victorian era. It was written by Jane Austen, who depicts a society in the eighteenth century of men/women, and families and how they are “supposed” to carry themselves. The historical work of Austin’s novel is in a time when the social standings were considered most important in upholding the family reputation. Grace, manners, old money and social standings were what you were going to be associated as. They were the biggest concerns of the eighteenth century.
