Remember the Titans Synopsis

In Alexandria, Virginia, "high school football is a way of life," most likely because it makes the town feel united. With the stands packed full with cheering fans townspeople loose themselves and worry only for the team. The patrons also find ways to get along with each other, which gives the fans a feeling of being a team. Football is a way of life because the Alexandria citizens eagerly await for every game night

Coach Boone felt uncomfortable taking a job that was his, only due to the color of his skin. Boone found this unfair because he had a job stolen from him by a white coach, because the other coach was white. When a person is given a job strictly because of their skin color, it should be considered unfair.

The African American citizens gathered around Coach Boone's house and greeted him with applause because the black citizens of Alexandria had never had representation. With a black coach the African American people believed coach Boone was their savior from discrimination. Also the black townsfolk would assume that a black coach would fill the starting positions with people of color.

a. Coach Boone took Coach Yoasts job. She was upset that coach Yoast just comes into town and steals her father's job.


The offensive and defensive players were forced to sit together and room together because Coach Boone wanted his players, both black and white, to learn to respect each other. The players would have to become a single unit. It would be difficult, but the players would have to look over skin color, and learn to play football.

The statement, " Attitudes reflect leadership," means that the attitude of a leader can control the success or failure of a group. With a negative leader his followers will also hold the same views. On the flip side a positive mindset will inspire productive work. It is imperative to have a positive attitude to successfully lead a group.

It is imperative to understand the likes and dislikes of friends, coworkers, associates and/or team members because you are constantly put into situations where interacting with your peers is necessary.
