Coach Boone felt uncomfortable taking a job that was his, only due to the color of his skin. Boone found this unfair because he had a job stolen from him by a white coach, because the other coach was white. When a person is given a job strictly because of their skin color, it should be considered unfair.

With a black coach the African American people believed coach Boone was their savior from discrimination.
