Robert Frost writes about a person's lust for life, greed, and life changing decisions in his poem "The Road Not Taken." The speaker's an adventurous man who's seen the choices which lie ahead and wants to have both. He is regretful even before he makes his decision about which path to take. He wistfully notes, "sorry be that I could not travel both."(line 2). His greed gives him pause; he puzzles over the impossibility of going both ways. Being a thoughtful man, who enjoys life, he wants the most from it. This causes him to go the way few others would choose. Whether the path he chose is neglected from danger, or difficulty, we don't yet know, but it's bumpy and crooked and, "bent in the undergrowth,"(line 5).
