In the film Frankenstein, there are very many vivid themes. These films are portrayed by film language, such as lighting, music, action, and background. These aspects of film language can tell us whats happening even without the dialogue.
The themes love, revenge, obsessiveness, and moral consequence are all shown with the film language and give us a hint as to what is going to happen and if it is a good section of the film like at the mansion, or if it is a bad section of the film like that of the creation of the body.
In the film, evil is a major aspect and is also one of the main themes in such horror films as Frankenstein. There are many examples of evil and horror such as the birth scene, the making of the body and also Elizabeth's death. As soon as the birth scene begins we can sense that it will be bad and something is going to happen because of the film techniques that were used. The violence of the hacking and chopping of limbs that Victor does portrays the evil of recreating life and the description of The Tod being burnt "The Tod was dead, the fur seared off him leaving charred, blistered flesh" portrays how evil Mr Karle is and also how evil his organization is.
