Silicone Breast Implants
A detailed Summary of Silicone Breast Implants
In a woman's life, her breasts are important to her in many ways. They can contribute to her self-esteem, appearance, and sexual satisfaction. Today plastic surgery is performed mostly for cosmetic reasons. It has been misunderstood for a beauty surgery. Having taken the entire amount of plastic surgeons, only small amounts limit their practice to just cosmetic operations.
Woman who choose to have breast implants do so for many reasons. It might be due to an accident or even a cancer patient. Women that have cancer or are recovering from cancer usually have this procedure because it was necessay for them to have a mastectomy. After one or both of a women's breast have been removed this person chooses to have silicone implants to give them a feeling of wholeness again along with many other personal reasons.
For the other patients, breast implants are an elective surgery. These "pre-op" patients have several decisions that need to be thought out thoroughly. A few are: the costs (medical insurance companies do not typically pay for this operation), the type of implant (saline, silicone or double lumen), the size of the implant, the shape of the breast, should it be in front or behind the muscle, how sh

Silicone implants could cause side effects, but receiving them, even for cosmetic purposes, could seem like they will positively affect that woman's life. They are also very expensive. The patient must seriously consider what could go wrong in surgery and possible long-term effects. If this procedure will make a woman more self confident, feel better about herself, and she is comfortable with this decision she should be allowed to purchase a breast augmentation. This is America and we ALL have the freedom of choice.
Numerous healthy women go out and obtain implants without the knowledge of what the possible risks are. So many women decide on cosmetic surgery when a part of her body makes her feel uneasy, self conscious, and or ugly. People perceive their bodies differently than other do. Why? The pursuit for some of these women is endless. Plastic surgery operation after plastic surgery operation. I believe that this needs to be recognized as a series disorder. This disorder with massive elective plastic surgery is comparable with that of anorexia or bulimia. People who suffer from anorexia or bulimia see themselves differently in the mirror. A girl who is suffering from anorexia or bulimia that is five foot ten and weighs one hundred pounds will have a misconception of how her body looks. Every time she sees herself she will never be happy how she looks. These all are very serious disorders that need special attention.
Good or bad, the society we live in puts a large emphasis on physical appearances. It is documented that some time in the 1940's Japanese prostitutes enlarged their breasts with paraffin, sponges, and non-medical grade silicone. Doing this, these women hoped that their larger breasts would attract American servicemen.
In addition, another idea that should be considered, a small study can only rule out large risk diseases, while low risk diseases can only be properly studied if there a
