Jazz Dance: a dancer, choreogr

Jazz dance has become a very popular style of dance. However, just what sets jazz dance apart from the other styles of dance? Some would say that it is the "syncopation" element of jazz dance. How there are quick changes often. It is not boring and predictable. Others would say it is the immense degree of individual expression. This form of dance encourages everyone to develop their own moves and not to be copycats. Or maybe it is the connection a jazz dancer has with the music. It is difficult to lay your finger on just one definition. More than likely, there is a harmonious balance between all these elements that sets jazz dance apart from other styles.

To further explore this field of dance, we will look at three aspects of jazz dance- a dancer, a choreographer, and jazz dance at conventions. Dancer Frank Grammer followed his passion for jazz dance and shared his passion with other teen boys, choreographer Darrin gives a glimpse into his moves, and jazz is the favorite style at conventions. These are just a few elements helping the advancement of jazz dance.

The world of jazz dance is a groundbreaking place. It has much history, and yet is one of the most popular dance forms today. Breakthroughs are made each day as new trends are made or altered. The world of jazz dance is an exciting up beat place where you not only work to achieve your dreams, but you also can create an individual style as well. In doing this, you not only get to explore different kinds of music and dance, you also get to explore yourself.

Grammer is an incredible dancer who stands as an icon for all other dancers (not just jazz dancers). His strength shows that you should not let others negativity influence your decisions or ideas in any way. Who knows, those who opposed your ideas may end up liking them and those ideas may end up the hottest new trend, like it did for Grammer. Grammer also advises all other dancers to set goals for themselves. Once you achieve those goals, you should not stop there. You have proven that you can go further and should continue to do so by setting more goals to achieve, it helps motivate you to be the best dancer you can be.

Although this is not a place to train dancers, going to a convention can deeply enrich and further a jazz dancer's abilities. By exposing jazz dancers to a lot of new information in a short amount of time, it pushes the dancer. Most pick up the

Darrin Henson is a current popular choreographer coming up with the moves for many popular artists today including Brittany Spears, NSYNC, Jordan Knight, Prince, and even Michael Jackson.
