Confucianism

In Confucianism, there is thought to be one central founder but due to it's complicated past there can be an argument made that there is more than one foundered, depending how it is looked upon. The main founder which is agreed upon is Kung Fu-Tuz. He was born in 551 B.C. into a very poor family with a very strong and noble lineage. His father died shortly after the birth of his son Kung Fu-Tuz. Kung Fu-Tuz was a very smart child and soon became an exceptional student. He was always eager to learn about new and interesting things. As he got older, he started to teach people about their past and what was happening during those times. During that time, there was much fighting going on between the states in China and there created total chaos. He taught people how they should act and what they should do in these times. By performing these teachings he formed many loyal disciples. They were thought to be as eager to learn as he was and they f


ollowed the things which he taught them very closely. At approximately the age of 50, he decided to become a public official in his home state of Duke of Lu. He thought that by being in a position of some level of power, people would begin to listen to his ideas and philosophies and the result would be to bring about peace and unite China once again. His views and ideas were not being listened to and did not receive the recognition or response he was looking for. He then began to wander throughout the states of China telling and teaching about what he believed in. He was still having very limited success and eventually found himself returning to his home state. He began to write many books about what he had been teaching over the many years. The most popular of these books is the Analects (Lun Yu). When his thoughts and ideas were eventually discovered by the European Jesuit missionaries, they gave him the name of Confucius.
