If given the chance, Toronto's economy would have increased because of the Olympics. This would have been easily done by the physical improvements, powerful infrastructure and enlarged tourism industry. Every Olympics leaves a legacy, a way it has changed a city for the better, something that cannot be undone or would not want to be. For Calgary it was the excess one hundred and fifty million dollars and world renowned athletic facilities, for Beijing it will be the treatment of people and human rights and one day for Toronto it will be the increased economy and quality of life.

Also with greater need for technology, more emphasis would be put on ways to simplify, advance and improve it. When the Olympics comes to a city, the latest technology in any field usually comes with it as a place to market, show-off and unite the latest in technology. As the hosting city, Toronto would have to advance its technology, particularly in the television broadcasting field, to the nation's standards. This will help to further industrialize Canada resulting in more companies, business, and jobs along with more education needs. This will also send out a message that Canada is an advanced, up to date country and will increase our reputation.

Infrastructure presents the idea of a solid foundation that over time needs replacement and growth within a community. At this moment, Toronto is a well-known infrastructure that is busting at the seams to improve but constantly comes up short on funding. If Toronto were to win the 2008 winter Olympics, a large amount of funding would be given to the city's department of infrastructure and an explosion of communication, resources and technology would take place.
