The Psychic Mind
The mind of a Psychic truly is a vast and interesting subject to look at. Most people when talking about the psychic mind consider that person to have psychic "powers". They misunderstand it because they see what people think what a psychic is through television and or movies, and make it sound unreal and fake. It's not a special "power" but an ability a person is gifted with. Most people associate energy with power, but in reality they are two totally different things. There are many aspects to being a psychic. It's not all about what a person sees in a movie or on T.V. It's much more. Children to adults, it develops in all ages. Many have tried to prove the existence of different Psychic Abilities. Those who have tried to prove the existence of psychokinesis, the movement of objects with the mind, were called fake or laughed at for attempting such a thing. It's the same for those who attempted to prove telepathy, even tough that subject is left with open ends. Even the people who supposable had these abilities that helped with the experiments were called fake and some "freaks". One has to ask themselves, what for? Was it for those people were the one that were not afraid to open the doors to the unknown? The
The subject of children and the Psychic mind is very interesting to discuss. Most of person's Psychic abilities develop when they are young (ESP The Search Beyond the Senses 30). Parents, however, often discredit their chidren without even knowing it. Children often have invisible friends that only they can see. Their parents however will always tell them there is no such thing as an invisible friend. Then after a while the invisible friend goes away, or the child just stops believing in them. Some researchers believe that the invisible friend is actually a ghost or some other spirit that lives in the house (Psychic true Paranormal Experiences 214). However, the evidence to support this theory is little to none. people who were laugh at then have greatly developed our knowledge of the paranormal today. They never gave up in their attempts to revile the truth and to open those doors for everyone to experience. Most Psychic teenagers who make it into adulthood have to deal with the pressures of society. There are a lot of "entertainment Psychic" in this world who give the true Psychic a bad reputation. Ms. Cleo is an excellent example. She uses just her taro cards to use her "powers" where as real psychic would use more tools then just taro cards. They use a variety of tools such as: Quartz crystal balls, rune stones, taro cards, and in some cultures small animal bones (The Book of Wicca 97). Two very controversial subjects in existence today are telepathy and psychokinesis or telekinesis. Psychokinesis defies the laws of Psychic in every possible way. It is where the Psychic can move Physical objects with their minds. Sometimes called mind over matter (Psychic true paranormal experiences 13). In the 1970's Prof. John Hasted of Birkbeck College in London University conducted an experiment into Psychokinesis. He found a teenage boy named Nichols Willams, who could supposedly crush keys and ripple aluminum from a distance (Powers of the Mind 284). The test took place outside of the room and when they had returned the aluminum was rippled. However some believe that it happened for Hasted never witnessed the change himself. Many expirements have been tested, mostly scientific, and have failed to accomplish their goal. However, religion has put a few thoughts into psychokinesis. The early Christians told of how an evil lizard named Simon Magus flew through the air during a dispute with saint peter, but the Saints cut him down in mid flight with a well-aimed prayer (ESP The Search Beyond the Senses 35). All though this may not prove psychokinesis really exists but it may leave opportunities open to those who wish to believe. To understand the Psychic mind better, a person has to look at its origins. Developed in the mid 1800s, Parapsychology was created by a group of English philosophers devoted to the study of paranormal activity. Parapsychology, or PSI research, is the study of the sixths sense and other unnatural phenomena that parallel other psychic happenings. Parapsychology is not any much different than normal
