Conflict in the Mid East
Conflict and Turmoil in the Middle East The middle east is a land full of hate and conflict, many factors from both past and present combine to make the middle east the center of unrest that it is today. Some factors are it's diverse group of peoples living in such a small area, the many different rulers and owners the land has had throughout the years, and the evil rulers the countries currently have. Those are just a few of the many reasons the middle east is presently a troubled and turbulent area. One of the main reasons there is so much tension in the middle east, is all of the different peoples and ethnic groups that live there. This is due to the numerous rulers the middle east has had over the past centuries. Ruling power will be passed from empire to empire and kingdom to kingdom numerous times, each time a new gauge is formed, more hatred is grown for the enemy, and more and more people wish to fight again for the land they believe is rightfully theirs. The middle east is defined as the lands in North Africa, all the way east to the Dardanelles in Asia Minor, so technically the first rulers of the middle east were the ancient Egyptians in 4000 BC, later the war-like Assyrians grew up along-side the Egy
time that the British white papers were published, re-affirming the support for a Jewish state in Palestine. This caused the surrounding Arab lands to send troops to Palestine to protect its Arab peoples. The large Arab force, soon attacked Israel. It was about this time, as well, that terrorist groups like the Palestine Liberation Organization, would carry out bloody attacks on the citizens of Israel. Facing terrorists, and many surrounding countries trying to invade, Israel was largely out-numbered, and thought to have been facing certain doom, but it controlled one of the most technologically advanced militaries in the world, so Israel managed to beat back the invaders, and even gain some land for its' self. Israel beat back invaders from Egypt all the way to the Sinai Peninsula, and others to the Golan Heights. A UN cease-fire had to be established or who knows how far Israel would have gone. From this point on, numerous small battles, skirmishes, terrorist attacks, and secret wars would be fought over Palestine and other holy land. The 6-Day war, of 1967 started when Syria was directly sponsoring terrorism against Israel. Israel gave Syria time to crack down on it, but nothing was done, so Israel had to take matters into it's own hands. This prompted the nations of Egypt, Syria, Jordan, and Iraq to start collaborating on a way to simultaneously attack Israel. Before this attack was finalized, Israel made a pre-emptive strike. Numerous air raids were send out in one night and effectively crippled every single one of the allying country's air force. Israel also sent ground forces to Egypt and within only 48 hours, captured the entire Sinai Peninsula. With Israeli armies away, king Hussein of Jordan, (not to be confused with Saddam Hussein) sent forces to Jeresuleum, and captured much of the city, including the UN headquarters. This was only a minor setback for Israel, though. Within a few The deep-rooted hatred for others, coupled with ancient lad disputes, and age old struggles for power, fueled by rulers who are willing to risk innocent lives for their needs, shows just how confused and hostile the middle east area is. The future of this volatile land is uncertain, but whatever it is, it's not looking good. Some say this land will be the cause of World War III, with all the conflict and wars going on, one might believe this to be true. eastern civilizations begins to crumble. The "Sick Man of Europe" as it was called, began to lose territory to Russia and Austria, then after it sided with Germany in world war I, it was secretly divided up between Britain and France. This caused an influx of Caucasians and Europeans to move to the middle east, which only fed fuel the fire that was the anger of the middle east, being under foreign rule and having strange peoples enter their states, on top of losing a world war, made the middle east peoples unhappy, to say the least. Continued talks with Britain about independence for Arab states lead to Sherif Hussein of Mecca being promised the majority of the middle east, including the state of Palestine. This promise, though, is later contradicted by the "Balfour Declaration" made by Great Britain, saying that she supported a free Jewish state in Palestine, this statement too was later contradicted by the British "White Paper," which limited Jewish immigration into Palestine. This whole confusion and series of events was another factor contributing to the belief that the Jews were another one of many groups that do not belong in the middle east, and thus tension escalated. With all the different rulers and kingdoms throughout the ages that had control of the middle east, each introd
