Nowadays in times of the so-called “Global Village” there are many wars going on, which are not anymore just typical border-wars as in former times. The faces of war are changing constantly with one goal, to kill more effectively. There is an average of twenty ongoing wars in the world at any giving time, so the topic of war played, plays, and is going to play a dominant and cruel part of the human civilisation. War has a fundamental role in our world and this role is definitely not to preserve peace. There is one important question that has to be asked: “What are the reasons for war?” To be able to answer this question you have to look back at the history of our society. There are of course many reasons which add up to a violent conflict but the major cause of war is simply gaining more power. And how do you achieve this goal? – by winning more land, which gives you a greater supply of raw-materials; by robbing the goods of your enemy; by becoming a greater population and taxing more money and so on. There is always the greed of a few leading people for power, for money behind it. These people find methods to manipulate their citizens, so that they don’t doubt the necessity of war.
