Calc what?
A detailed Summary of Calc what?
If getting an A or B over the year is deemed successful than I was successful in this class. But I also feel successful in that I received an A on almost ever test and I feel pretty good about the A.P. exam, even though whenever I feel good about something, it always turns bad. I also feel way more confident in my math skills than ever before and I can do algebraic manipulations, substitutions and things like that way easier than before. I learned more this year, even this quarter, than I ever had in all of my math classes combined, maybe not including Stats though. With the mathematical knowledge have gained throughout the year and the skills that I have developed, I would say that I was successful in this class.
In the first month of school, there are a couple things that helped me succeed in the class. The first thing is the same thing everyone else says, get used to doing homework and come to school. The other thing that I found more important than anything was to get a grasp on the material. Just like in Statistics last year, the first couple of chapters set up the rest of the year, and if you don?t understand the concepts then it is really hard to understand what is going on. One more important th

If I were to give an A.P. Calculus student any advice for next year, the first advice I would give them is of course the cliche advice, do your homework, go to school, study hard. But I would also tell them that they need to focus their energy in the first four months of calculus. The class will be so much easier, more fun, and a whole lot less stressful if you comprehend what is going on and why. When you know why something is happening it is extremely easy to figure out how to solve the problem. Another piece of advice that I would give is to not let yourself believe that this is just the only other math class you can take. If you go into the class believing that you need this class in the future and you want to take it then it will be much easier to succeed. If you go into the class believing that either you were forced into it or you had nothing better to take, the class will be hell because you won?t want to be there. You have to be in the right frame of mind in order to succeed and accomplish anything. One more thing, something that I mentioned earlier, is don?t get cocky. Yes the first chapters are easy, but you not only need to pay close attention to them, but you also have to keep out the thoughts that the class is going to be a breeze.
Next year, you should spend more time on the basics like taking derivatives and antiderivatives and have a better foundation with those so it will be easier to do the harder problems. I would also spend more time on the concepts that are involved with derivatives and antiderivatives like velocity and position. I noticed that a lot of people this year had trouble differentiating between when to take the derivative or antiderivative or how to. Another thing I would spend more time doing next year is showing how to do algebraic and trigonometric substitutions and algebraic manipulations. I saw a lot of the students struggle when it came down to simplifying or manipulating answers. When we took the A.P. practice tests, many people had the right answers but got them wrong because they couldn?t change it to find the correct multiple choice answer because they either had problems with simplifying or manipulating it so it was one of the answer choices. Plus, if you have strong algebra skills, the derivatives and things like that will come a lot easier.
There were many outside factors that helped contribute to my success and many that didn?t. The main factor I could think of, both positively and negatively, was my ?homies?. They he
