Resurrection- Resurrection could be called as a rebirth. Many of the characters in the book A Tale of Two Cities, have been reborn. Whether they were sentenced to die but lived or became new person. This theme has been apparent since the beginning of the book. Many of the characters have been "resurrected" at one point of another. Within the last group of chapters, Darnay gets resurrected a few times. He was to be killed by the revolutionary, but Dr. Mannete was able to keep him alive. When Darnay was on trial, the testimonies of Dr. Mannete and some other people had him acquitted. Dr. Mannete now appears more alive and strong and has appeared to be "resurrected" from his relapse. Carton had made his life worthwhile in the end of the book. He sacrificed his life for Lucie's happiness.
Page 370- "It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known."
What Carton recalled before his death. I felt that he was a changed man and did something really noble. He sacrificed his life so Lucie would have Darnay.

Revenge and Hatred- Revenge and hatred was the basis of the book. The revenge the peasants wanted from the aristocrats. The revenge Madam Defarge wanted on Lucie and Darnay. Madam Defarge was the main reason that all of the bad things happened in this book. She had a deep hatred for Darnay and Lucie and her family. Madam Defarge wanted to end all of their lives but was unsuccessful. Eventually it was her death that was the result of her hatred.
