A detailed Summary of Culture Shock


Life is full of mysteries and surprises. No one can predict what is going to happen in his or her life tomorrow. When I first moved to California from Hong Kong at the age of 10, I had no idea what to expect. All I knew back then was that California has good weather, bright sunshine, nice beaches, and people that like to surf. Besides that, I had no idea what it was like to live in California. As the years have passed, I experienced a California that I had little idea existed when I first arrived here. The diversity of the people in California, the energy and intensity people put into sports, and the big issue of drug and alcohol abuse with teenagers shocked me.

One of the first things that shocked me when I came to California is its diversity. I had never seen that many races of people before I immigrated here. I th
