Mercantilism vs Physiocracy
The Hard Reality I have an acquaintance who is uttering with difficulty. It is really difficult to understand what he means. I endeavored many times to concentrate to get his intention, but it was useless since he always felt shy to speak to other people. However, I tried to know the reasons of his way of talking and his shyness, but he was always silent. Hence, I decided to ask my grandmother, who is an amiable person, to tell me about this person since she knows his family well. She told me that his father was the prime cause of what he is now, so I felt sorry and I started to ask myself what is a real meaning of the word father? Does it only mean the one who brings you to this world or does it have a hidden meaning? Then I felt a great curiosity to know the story of this strange man; therefore I asked my grandmother to tell me the story, in great detail, and she did not refuse. She started to say the story with a great look of sadness and a deep worried voice. She told me how miserable his childhood was. He led a completely difficult life as he lost his mother when he was born. Therefore,
he was a lost and helpless child. His neighbors and his relatives, occasionally, came to feed, dress or look after him. Five years after his mother death, his father married another woman whom his relatives believed would compensate Hossam with maternal love, and affection which he lost when he was born. Nevertheless, his stepmother was a woman with no feelings; she treated him cruelly as if she is a woman without a heart. She always hit him brazenly, and gave him little freedom. Incidentally, she hardly let him play with his peers. Moreover, she not only commanded him to clean his room, but also to wash his clothes, even when he was only ten years old. However, that was not new since stepmothers in general hate their stepchildren and treat them unkindly as Ibid said, "A stepmother at home is as a bear in the wood"(1149). Furthermore, his father did not care about Hossam or about the way his wife treated him. He also did not pay any attention to his child's complaints about how severe his stepmother treated him as if Hossam is not his son. He was also treating him harshly since his wife told him that the boy insulted her and never listened to her advice. Therefore, his father hit him, since he did not want to provoke his wife. In addition to the severe treatment at his home, the boy faced many difficulties in his school life. His colleagues and classmates were laughing and mocking him, as he was handicapped in his way of taking and expressing himself. Hence, he felt lonely among his peers, and he was silent all the time, since when he spoke only a few words all the class nearly fainted from laughing. Moreover, he was low in his class as a result of his parent's neglect. Hence, his teachers always blamed his father for the child's weakness and low grades. Therefore, his father hit him instead of trying to know the reasons for his son's low grades. Suddenly, my grandmother actually broke down in tears telling me that his father sometimes hit him with a whip, as if he was hitting an animal, when he got low grades at school. However, Hossam became lower in class than before. Therefore, the school's teachers advised his father to help Hossam getting rid of his shyness and ambiguous way of taking which hampered him from participating in class. Hence, his father tried hard but in vain. He took him to a club to be more sociable and to improve his way of talking, but the boy was not progressing since it was too late to treat a boy at the age of sixteen.
