There are four quotes from the film 'Whets Eating Gilbert Grape' directed by Lasse Hallstrom, that helps to show Gilbert Grape's development from being extremely passive to being hopeful and independent. This essay shows how he transposed.

At the beginning of the film 'Whets Eating Gilbert Grape' by Lasse Hallstrom Gilbert was noticeably distant and refined (I do not think that is what you mean).
