Marketing Plan (Nextel)

At Nextel Communications we deliver quality cellular services and products to the local and national retail market. All of our cellular phones are manufactured by Motorola. Our cellular service differs from competitors. Other cellular phone companies share each others towers and charge roaming fees. Nextel works off of our own nationwide digital network. Basically we own all of our towers that send out signals. This eliminates charging roaming fees to our customers and eliminates hassles of receiving service. Not only is our cellular service one of the best in today's society, we have a patented statewide 2-way radio built in every phone. This radio function will connect anyone with a Nextel phone to another Nextel phone statewide. This eliminates charges of cellular minutes between two Nextel phones.

Our target market will be all large businesses and any corporations. We realize that the consumer market is made of many more buyers and potential clients. However, we feel that if we properly distribute our product to all major businesses nationwide, we will have a stronger client base and the corporate level of businessmen will sell our product by word of mouth. Our plan is this; we will market our product competitively wit

h our outside sales teams. Our outside sales teams will be located in a corporate office buildings located in every major city nationwide. These teams will then cold call, travel to businesses, and demonstrate Nextel Service to as many companies as possible. When a company is signed on with our service they will be assigned a Nextel representative who will be in charge of their account. This representative will be in charge of answering any questions, changing equipment, or changing rate plans for the business. Nextel will also have an 800 number where anyone can receive information about service, pay bills over the phone, or receive any customer service that is needed. Our goal is to change every company from there current cellular service to Nextel service. We are very confident that our service will win many companies and consumers. No other company offers a 2-way radio that eliminates charges between two cellular phones. Nextel will give a company unlimited 2-way radio minutes and a certain amount of cellular minutes for the same if not better price than the competitor. This will allow a company of ninety employees, for instance, to reach each other with unlimited 2-way radio statewide, for one monthly fee. This saves the employer reimbursement for all cellular minute usage between all company phones because with Nextel it is unlimited.

During the whole process the CEO of Nextel and his board will be in charge of making any decisions in marketing and distributing this product. Any deviations from the plan will be in charge through the CEO of Nextel.

In the first year of our company's opening we will start by opening outside sales teams in every city. These teams are our backbone of our company because they will be presenting our product to our target market. It will cost close to 2 million dollars for equipment, rent employees and other expenses in the first year. We are not worried about costs because we know that we deliver a quality product that will change the cellular world as we know it. After our teams have delivered our product to all major corporations, revenues will be high enough to expand to the purchase of a nationwide retail location. We will then hire employees that will deliver our product to middle and high-class users. During the expansion of our retail chains we will continue to build a stronger website and customer service lines. We predict that it will take 5 years until the retail stores are purchased. This will give our company time to expand our market to many different corporations. Total revenue projections are 1st year, 5 million dollars followed by a steady 10 percent or more increase in sales every year after.

Our product will be positioned only in corporate and business settings at first. They will then be expanded to the public through our retail chains and internet website.

Our lines of phones are meant to last many years. This benefits the consumer so they do not have to purchase new equipment every year. Even if technology changes our product line can still be used, it will be the choice of the consumer to change equipment.

In our external analysis, we see that almost everyone in the United States owns a cellular phone. This benefits us because the more people that own phones, the more people we can switch to our service. The cellular industry is also fairly inexpensive, which makes it easy for the average consumer to own a phone. The cellular phone industry is very competitive, but as long as we know what are competition is offering, we can always be competitive with our pricing. With out 2-way radio feature I feel we are one step above every other cellular company.
