An eight year conflict between the American Continental Army and the British Empire -- a revolution or a war for America's independence? One could easily argue, with validity, that this eight-year conflict was a revolution and another, with the same validity, could argue that it was a war to gain independence. In my opinion, this conflict was a war to gain independence from a country that only wanted to exploit the riches of America and cared nothing for its colonists - p
