Few individuals have had a more profound affect on a person as Diana, the Princess of Wales. While her beauty and natural charm attracted immediate attention, her warmth and sincerity touched the world. Yet the song reflects on her as a person and only her adult life just before she died. This shapes my ideas towards 'changing perspectives' as people such as Diana are judged by how they appear in the tabloids, yet it took a tragedy, like her death and it was not until the funeral, the world was able to see the person Diana really was. This is how my perspective of Diana was changed. I was oblivious to the terrible pain and endless media sabotage, which shaped her life. Her real life remained hidden. These two mediums, song and speech, portray the same message through 2 completely different approaches. They both tribute Diana and reflect on her as a person yet expose this contrarily. A traditional Eulogy in praise of the deceased and a close friend bidding farewell through a touching song, help to shape how wonderful a person Diana was. They are so effective in doing so although never seeing or speaking to Princess Diana I feel as though I knew her personally.
