Maestro
The novel Maestro, by Peter Goldsworthy, who was born in Adelaide and then moved to Darwin to finish his education. Since graduating in medicine from the University of Adelaide, he has devoted his time equally to medicine and writing. He is married to a fellow graduate and they have three children. I believe Goldsworthy successfully explores issues relevant to a society in a different period of time, given the book is set in the 1960’s and was not published until 1989.
