Every day, in almost every city and town across America, millions of children are deciding whether to try drugs. Most additions start when someone is a child. In 1999 a pole took in the 4.7 percent of eighth graders have tried cocaine, then in the tenth grade 7.7 percent have tried cocaine, and in the twelfth grade 9.8 percent tried it ( Cocaine ). Since 1979 the percentage of pot smokers that used everyday has dropped a whopping 10.7 percent, but now in 1999 its at a 49.7 percent ( Marijuana ). In 1999 we have a lot of curious kids experimenting drugs in 1999 a survey proved that in the eighth grade 2.7 percent have tried ecstasy, in the tenth grade 6.0 percent have tried it and in the twelfth grade almost 8.0 percent have tried it ( Ecstasy ). The last survey that was taken in 1996 for Crystal Meth had proven 4.9 million people of twelve years and older have tried it once in their lifetime ( Methamphetamine ). Cocaine, Mary Jane, Crystal Meth, Ecstasy, and mushrooms are all currently popular drugs, yet they are all additive and can tear apart a persons family and self esteem.
