Euthanasia: pros and cons
Euthanasia, what is it exactly. Euthanasia is the extreme doctors could go and the extent that some do to relive the pains of their patience, assisted suicide. Is it killing or is it relief, is it right or is it wrong, and if so morally, lawfully, or both. Scientist and Doctors alike have stated what they think and what they believe is the most helpful to the patience. The laws of many countries are very different and some obviously believe that Euthanasia is a good and rightful thing and it is practiced daily. In other countries, such as ours, some of the people think its is wrong. They believe that to help people kill themselves is murder. If you were old, sick, or suffering don't you think you would at least like the opportunity to end the pain and agony you were facing? I know I would at least appreciate the choice to live or die, not play god or anything, just have the option available to end the excruciating pain I was feeling. If you or a loved one was suffering with a life treating injury or disease and you knew you had no chance to make it trough the pain wouldn't you and your family want to have a chance to take some of the pain
In my research I have found that there are many pros and cons of Euthanasia. None too large to over come if that's what the people of the world really want. I am undecided in my decision on Euthanasia. Each side has good points. It would be good to have a choice when your close to the end, and then again the whole Euthanasia is practically against the law and I am a Christian and I know killing is wrong no matter if it could be for the better of that person. No one knows the future, but perhaps this is it. Though polls and world wide surveys information has been gathered and to some the information is astounding. Some of these facts are that 54% of doctors want to change the laws to allow them to help their patience end their lives. Another interesting fact is that no worldwide poll has ever showed that the majority of the world was against Euthanasia, showing that there is a mirrored effect though out the world. Most of this support is from the elderly and disabled members of society. The laws of all the states in America except one strictly prohibit any form of "assisted suicide". The one state that will stand for "relief from pain and suffering" is the state of Oregon, and the laws only allow the doctor to precribe " peace pills" to patience that agree to go on to a better or maybe a worse place. The thought of any other kind of killing including lethal injection is strictly prohibited by law. Other states have had the chance to vote to bring in new laws for Euthanasia, and all but for the slim margin in Oregon, turned away the option knowing killing is wrong. Some of the
