Jane Eyre
Jane Eyre was orphaned when she was little because both of her parents died of typhus. After that she lived with her Aunt Reed who hated her and excluded her from the family activities. Then she was sent to Lowood School and was a student and a teacher. After eight years she decided that she wanted to teach in someone's home, so she started advertising. She found someone interested and at the age of 18 she left for Thornfield. There she teaches Adele Varens and winds up marrying the master of Thornfield Mr. Rochester. Then Thornfield burnt down and they were married 2 years later and had a baby and moved to France. In this story there are a few scenes that lead up to the main plot. The first is when she leaves her Aunt to go to school, which makes her happy. There she gets new friends, which builds her self-esteem and makes her a strong stable woman. At eighteen she goes to Thornfield. There she falls in love with the master Mr. Rochester. They greatly loved each other and enjoyed each other's company. Their love soon came to a standstill because at their wedding Jane found out Mr. Rochester was still married, but he hated his old wife because she was crazy. Because of this Jane moved to a village a day aw
The author uses time in different ways during Jane's life. During Jane's time at Gates Hall she uses a time span of about 2 years because I feel this wasn't an important part of her life. Then she goes to school at Lowood where she explains 3 or 4 years of her life there and skips another 8 years because she feels that the 8 years wasn't important because nothing happened. Then she moved on to Thornfield where they spent a time span of the rest of Jane's life. The reason for this is because this is where Jane reaches the happiest part of her life and I think the author feels this is the most important part of Jane's life. Also in this story the author uses foreshadowing more than she uses flashbacks. I think a good example of foreshadowing is when lighting shatters the old horse-chestnut tree when Mr. Rochester is proposing to Jane. I think this because this tells the reader that their marriage won't work and it turns out that it doesn't. ay from Thornfield. After a year of living there she finds that she can't live without Mr. Rochester. So, she returns to Thornfield to find it burnt down. So she asks around town and finds that Mr. Rochester had his arm amputated and is blind and that he lives right up the round. She hurries to him and finds that they love each other more than ever. So, the main plot is when Jane settles down with Mr. Rochester and they get married, have a baby, and move to France. In this story there were great settings that made the events in the story more interesting. The first setting was Gateshead Hall where there was the red room, which was described as a ghostly place. Then there was Lowood, which has brief descriptions like the cafeteria and the classrooms. Next the
