A detailed Summary of White Fang - Book Report


Characters: Gray Beaver, Beauty Smith, Weedon Scott, White Fang, Kiche, and Lip-Lip.

1. Gray beaver- He is a very important character in the book. He is an Indian who owns Kiche and then later owns White Fang. He is White Fang's first master. Gray Beaver respects White Fang and they get along pretty well.

2. Beauty Smith- This man is vicious and a man that hurt White Fang and is really cruel to him. He gets White Fang by buying him from Gray Beaver. Everybody hates Smith and he takes his anger out on White Fang. All he does is use White Fang to get money and attention.

3. Weedon Scott- This is probably the most important Character in the book. He is the one who loves and actually cares about White Fang. White Fang also gives Weedon Scott his utmost attention, love, and happiness. Weedon Scott is the only one in the book who really cares about White Fang.

4. White Fang- This is the main character in the book. He is a wolf with human qualities, and feelings. White Fang is like the dog in The Call of the Wild Buck, except White Fang is born in the wild and then he has to be trained to become a domestic dog. In the book Call of The Wild, Buck is a domestic dog and has to become wild. White


Fang is very smart and learns quite quickly. White Fang finally becomes a well trained, loving dog. (wolf)

Theme or moral of the story- The Moral of this story was to always do your best and you will succeed. White Fang shows us that he always tries hard to do his best and also to do what his heart tells him to do. He learns many important lessons through life. So do we, so always try hard and you will most likely succeed. That's what the moral of this story is.

This man Beauty Smith was a mean and evil man to White Fang and to everyone. All he wanted was money. He would have White Fang fight other dogs and men would gamble on who would win. Smith therefore got a lot of money because White Fang was such a great fighter. One time White Fang had to fight a Bulldog. This was the first time that he ever had encountered a Bulldog. It was hard for him because of all the skin that was around the Bulldog's neck and White Fang could not get at the dog's throat. The fight went on for a while and both dogs were near death. They were ripping each other apart. Then White Fang was victorious in the end. A man by the name of Weedon Scott came along and saw this. He realized that what beauty Smith was doing was illegal. So, Weedon went up to Beauty and said that he would turn in Beauty if he did not give White Fang to him. Beauty agreed and then Weedon Scott became the owner of White Fang.

At the end of this book, while they were in San Francisco, one of the Scott's who was put in jail several years before escaped and was on the way to the Scott's house. He was coming for revenge for putting him in jail. That night White Fang was sleeping in the hallway when he broke in. White Fang attacked him and killed him before he did any damage to the Scott's. During this time White Fang was badly injured and was taken to the hospital. After he recovered he was allowed out of the hospital and back in the Scotts
