A detailed Summary of The Sun King


Louis XIV, one of the best known French kings came to power when he was only four years old. Uncared for the latter part of his childhood the country started to fall because there was no one to rule it properly.

The way Louis would rule the country and treat the French people was greatly shaped by the French Civil War. The Parisian Parliament's decision to rise against the crown would have Louis running for the next five years. He suffered fear, cold, hunger and other spirit-breaking events. This boy would never forgive Paris, the nobles, or the common people for what they did.

In 1653, a French Cardinal, Jules Mazarin was able to end the rebellion. He began to oversee and
