Russian Revolution

The Russian Revolution of 1917 was a major turning point in history. It marked the end of a czar rule of the Romanovs, as well as the beginning of a communist rule. The Revolution didn't just consist of one event. It consisted of many. Some of these events were the Czarist wartime incompetence, the March Revolution, the Czar abdicating his throne, the provisional government failing, and the communists taking control.

The first event was the Czarist wartime incompetence. Russia was not prepared for war, economically and militarily. They didn't have the money for a war, they had little food, and their military skills weren't good. This was shown when the Czar entered Russia into a war with Japan. It was also shown when Russia was sent into World War I. The war with Japan cau


The rule of the Czar soon came to an end. All the people of Russia hated him. He had little control over his country. In addition, the Czar didn't listen to others. This, as well as the March Revolution, forced Czar Nicholas II to abdicate his throne. A year later, revolutionaries killed him along with his family. A provisional government was then set up.
