Emily Bronte, author of Wuthering Heights, was born July 30, 1818 in Yorkshire. At Haworth in yorkshire, an isolated village on the moors, she had a very unhappy childhood, with her mother¯s death at her three. There, the surroundings became the setting for the tragedy of Wuthering Heights.
