Paper or papyrus? This has been a question that has plagued us for many years. Or is that paper or plastic. This is something that you probably never thought of. But, Is one really that much different from the other? Maybe, but their cultures they come from are like “cousins”, even though Egypt and China are in different continents. The first great similarity between Ancient Egypt and Ancient China is their geography. Both were centralized on the rivers, which flew through their civilizations. As we all know, the Egyptian civilization was built on and by the Nile River. The mighty Nile River was the lifeblood of ancient Egypt. Every year, it overflowed and deposited a strip of rich, black soil along each bank. The fertile soil enabled farmers to raise a huge supply of food. The ancient Egyptians called their country Kemet, meaning Black Land, after the dark soil. The Nile also provided water for irrigation and was Egypt's main transportation route. For all these reasons, Egypt was known as "the gift of the Nile." Like Egypt china was also built in river valleys. Chinese civilization had many rivers to feed their agricultural needs,
